The blog ain’t dead

… but it’s been sleeping for a while. That said, I haven’t been lazy — I’m about to wrap up an energetic season with the Gravel World Championship this weekend in the Netherlands!

I’ve always loved sharing my latest news, and I’ve been doing so since we started this blog back in 2013 — 12 years! It’s been such a great place to share my thoughts and experiences from racing and cycling all over the world.

These past two years, a lot of great things have been happening in my personal life — marriage, a dog, Green Cycling, and coaching. Balancing all of that with pro gravel racing hasn’t been easy, which is why most of my updates lately have been over on Instagram.

Before I dive into the upcoming Gravel World Championship, I just want to give you a quick recap of what’s been going on.

A packed season

I’ve been racing a solid lineup of high-level events, and you can find the full race calendar here

My last race recap was from Unbound Gravel — an incredible race and definitely an adventure worth sharing.

Together with my team I organized and races eight 101percent Cup criterium races through the season, and three gravel events. DNF GRVL in April, Unionsrittet – an unofficial Norwegian Championship in July, and Nesfjellet Gravelduro in September.

Cycling for all

Green Cycling Norway’s initiative, Green Cycling School (Grønn Sykkelskole), is really on a great trajectory — getting busier every year. I started the non-profit with Thomas Rem back in 2018, and over the last two years, it’s more or less turned into a full-time job. From March to October, we organize more than 150 cycling schools for over 6,000 kids!

We have an excellent team of six coaches helping out, but whenever I’m home, I’m still out there almost every day visiting new schools.

Racing and qualifying for the Worlds

Lastly, I’ve been doing my best to keep racing strong, and at UCI Halmstad I qualified for my fourth UCI Gravel World Championship in Men’s Elite. My form has been solid lately, with a strong 24th place at the European Championship and 23rd at Ranxo Gravel.

After a packed schedule, I can feel that I need a bit of rest — but I’m really motivated to give it one last big effort at one of the biggest races of the season: the UCI Gravel World Championship in Limburg.

Right now, I’m in Brussels, and tomorrow I’ll head over to Limburg in the Netherlands to stay with some fellow Norwegian riders. I’ll be starting in position 132, which means it’ll be a challenge to make my way to the front — but it’s still a big step up from last year, when I started all the way back at number 250!

The race starts at 11:45 on Sunday and will be broadcast live.

I’m so grateful for my wife, my family and friends, and all my sponsors — thank you for being part of the journey. Let’s give it one last push this Sunday!
